Torrox Readies 'Extraordinary' Tourist Day Celebrations

Torrox is preparing a festive edition of Tourist Day with live music and special entertainment along the coast to thank domestic and foreign visitors.

Torrox is gearing up to celebrate its annual Tourist Day (*Día del Turista*). The coastal municipality, situated just west of Nerja, will host this special celebration to honour the domestic and international holidaymakers who visit the Axarquía region throughout the year.

While the municipal town hall has announced that the upcoming event will feature an expanded roster of activities, full details regarding the exact dates, coastal performance stages, and entertainment schedules are set to be rolled out shortly. Local authorities have promised that this edition will bring an extraordinary lineup packed with surprises for attendees.

Celebrating Visitors Along the Coast

Tourist Day has long been a festive tradition on the eastern Costa del Sol, serving as an official gesture of gratitude to travellers. Torrox Mayor Óscar Medina stated that the town is preparing a dedicated programme designed to make this year’s celebrations particularly memorable.

Visitors can expect celebrations focused heavily around the seaside promenades and beachfront areas. In previous editions, celebrations have included live concerts, cultural showcases, and gastronomy tastings. For the upcoming edition, town planners are putting together a schedule of musical entertainment and activities suitable for all ages across coastal venues.

A Quick Trip from Nerja

For travellers based in Nerja, Torrox Costa is an easy excursion. Located less than 10 kilometres down the coast, it can be reached in around 10 to 15 minutes by car along the N-340 or the A-7 motorway. Local intercity buses also link the Nerja bus station to Torrox Costa multiple times daily, making it effortless to attend the festivities without having to worry about parking.

Those spending time in the area can easily combine an afternoon at the beach or a walk along the Torrox lighthouse promenade with the festive atmosphere of Tourist Day once the official schedule is published.
