New beach club opens at Playa Burriana
Wood-fired paella, espetos and DJ nights — Mar Azul raises the bar at the eastern end of Playa Burriana, from family lunch to late summer night.
Playa Burriana, Nerja's most popular beach, is getting another beach club this summer. Mar Azul opens at the eastern end of the promenade, alongside the chiringuitos that have already made the stretch famous for paella and sunsets. The concept blends a family-friendly lunch restaurant by day with a DJ-driven beach club after 6 pm.
The menu focuses on traditional Costa del Sol cooking with a modern twist: wood-fired paella valenciana, espetos (sardines grilled on a stick), fresh seafood and a serious cocktail list of Spanish gin tonics. For families there is a children's menu, parasols and sun loungers that can be reserved in advance through the club's app.
Mar Azul joins a growing group of upgraded chiringuitos along Burriana that respond to demand from Northern European guests for a higher level of service without losing the relaxed beach atmosphere.
Good to know - Lunch service 1 pm – 5 pm, beach club 6 pm – 1 am. - Loungers nearest the water book up fast — reserve in the morning of the same day. - Easy to reach on foot from the centre along the promenade, about 15 minutes.
